my new Elephant card

about Cairo

After all I decided to write a few words about my trip to Cairo.
As for me it's extremely hug city even for me who is living in Moscow. I wanted to stay at my room and din't go anywhere. But I went to Cairo I had to see The Pyramids.

I chose this hostel:

It's centrally located in down town, about 3 min from Egyptian Museum. Also this hostel offers pick up from airport. And it's really great!

I made a great mistake! I came on weekend and did not change money at airport. So in the next morning I could not find any working bank.

I went to Giza by myself with help of locals. And there I hired the guide with horses to go around The Pyramids and take better pictures. I paid 125 Eg.pounds.









After this great experience I visited the Pizza Hut with best view on the Pyramids! You can eat and see one of The Seven Wonders and it's free! It's a pity only that window is dirty...

I came back to Cairo alone and it costed about 1.5 Eg.pounds for micro bus and 1 Eg.pounds for subway.

The Cairo subway looks like Paris one. But there are separate cars for women. But during rush hour you can find men sitting there and looking to the space :)



I visited the Egyptian Museum in the evening that let me avoid crowd.

I bought the train ticket to Alexandria this day. The second class car costs 29 Eg.pounds. And there is the tourist police office where you can ask information, help and check tickets.

Also I visited the embankment of Nile river near the Nile hotel and joint the 10min ship voyage. It's really nice entertainment! :) Men danced very expressional :)

I finished to read nice novel "The Alchemist" yesterday in metro. Where I started it there I finished it. I was great experience because I read about desert, about the similar route which I did being in Egypt. I absolutely agree with author that you can watch it long time like water and fire.
The desert is the wild element which is not under human control.
During my trip from Siwa to Baharia I saw how wind is changing the sand-waves but the desert stays the same... how people laid a road but desert decides where you can go... And for some reasons you want to keep silence being there...

Of course this book is not all about the desert and Pyramids, it's about personal choice. But this thing is private and everyone understands it in his own way...

I returned from Egypt about 2 weeks ago.
I met nice couple there which nudged me to start this blog. Thanks them!
So this post is my first one and I think I should present myself.
I like to take pictures and travel. So my dream is working in a traveller magazine. But now I'm in business aviation as a manager of the flights. It's interesting job also but less creative :)
Other my interests are handicrafts. Now I'm working in handmade cards.
