As for me it's extremely hug city even for me who is living in Moscow. I wanted to stay at my room and din't go anywhere. But I went to Cairo I had to see The Pyramids.

It's centrally located in down town, about 3 min from Egyptian Museum. Also this hostel offers pick up from airport. And it's really great!
I made a great mistake! I came on weekend and did not change money at airport. So in the next morning I could not find any working bank.
I went to Giza by myself with help of locals. And there I hired the guide with horses to go around The Pyramids and take better pictures. I paid 125 Eg.pounds.
After this great experience I visited the Pizza Hut with best view on the Pyramids! You can eat and see one of The Seven Wonders and it's free! It's a pity only that window is dirty... I came back to Cairo alone and it costed about 1.5 Eg.pounds for micro bus and 1 Eg.pounds for subway.
The Cairo subway looks like Paris one. But there are separate cars for women. But during rush hour you can find men sitting there and looking to the space :)
I visited the Egyptian Museum in the evening that let me avoid crowd.
I bought the train ticket to Alexandria this day. The second class car costs 29 Eg.pounds. And there is the tourist police office where you can ask information, help and check tickets.
Also I visited the embankment of Nile river near the Nile hotel and joint the 10min ship voyage. It's really nice entertainment! :) Men danced very expressional :)
I came here to check for any candid reviews on Hostel Brothers, and I'm glad I did. I guess, you'd recommend it again, right? How clean is the place? Does the wireless internet work, or not?

ОтветитьУдалитьThe place is rather clean, but it was really cold in February. It's placed in old house with wide stairs and old-school lift, which I was afraid to use :) The entrance of the building is free for cats, so you can find sometimes its biowaste :) which can stay there long time :)))
The main advantage is free internet although there is a sigh 4pounds but the receptionist said me that it's free :)
Also people working there were friendly and offered me really "good prices" :) But I was assured and declined it and failed.
